SUMMARY

The Director of Finance and Accounting will be accountable for all financial and accounting functions at LoadUp to ensure the financial health and long-term sustainability of the organization. This position will play a key role in implementing, optimizing, and overseeing the finance and accounting operations of the Company. The Director will lead the finance and accounting teams to achieve excellence in financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and fiscal management. 

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

  • Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement the financial strategy and long-term financial plans in alignment with the company’s goals.
  • Financial Close and Accounting Processes: Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported in a timely manner. Establish, review, and maintain effective accounting processes, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other financial reports for executive leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing forecasting to ensure the company’s financial performance is aligned with its goals.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships to ensure the company has adequate liquidity and funding to meet its operational needs.
  • Expense Management: Monitor and control expenses to ensure operational efficiency. Provide recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
  • Financial Systems: Evaluate and implement financial systems and processes that improve accuracy and efficiency in reporting and decision-making. Ensure efficient use of financial software, ERP systems, and other technology tools to streamline financial operations. Lead the integration of new systems and processes to enhance financial reporting, data accuracy, and automation.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, efficiency, and professional growth.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation. Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Audits & Tax Coordination: Coordinate and manage the external audit and tax compliance process. Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, and work closely with external auditors and tax advisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 3-5 years in a management position.
  • Robust accounting and financial modeling experience, ideally at a technology enabled services company.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in providing strategic financial guidance and planning.
  • Deep understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles (GAAP), budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and present complex financial information.
  • Experience managing accounting and finance teams, with a proven ability to develop talent.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, etc.).
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, data integrations, and utilizing technology to enhance financial processes and reporting.
